Christine Hellings has been appointed as the EWC’s new Director of Finance and Corporate Services.

Christine brings a wealth of senior experience to the role, having worked across government, public sector audit, and higher education.

Welcoming Christine to the EWC, Chief Executive Lisa Winstone said “We are delighted to welcome Christine to the EWC team. She brings significant experience and expertise that will be invaluable to the organisation.”

As Director of Finance and Corporate Services, Christine will be responsible for several key areas across the EWC, including financial planning, monitoring and reporting; financial governance and audit; human resources; corporate support; and information systems.

Joining the EWC, Christine said “The EWC plays a vital role in safeguarding learners and maintaining public confidence in the education workforce in Wales. I’m very much looking forward to working with colleagues across the organisation to help ensure the EWC continues to operate with strong governance, transparency, and efficiency.”

Christine joins the EWC from Monday, 2 February 2026.
