A Fitness to Practise Committee of the Education Workforce Council (EWC), sitting remotely on 26 to 28 November 2024 and 31 January 2025, have found an allegation of ‘unacceptable professional conduct’ proved against school learning support worker, Calum David Williams.   

The Committee found the following allegations proven, that whilst employed as a learning support worker at Ysgol Bryn Castell, Mr Williams, in or around between September 2023 and November 2023 was:

• late for work on more than one occasion
• used inappropriate language when speaking to and/or about a pupil
• called another pupil “pathetic” and/or “whiney” or words to that effect

The Fitness to Practise Committee imposed a Reprimand on Mr Williams’ registration as a school learning support worker, for a period of 2 years (from 31 January 2025 to 31 January 2027).

As such, Mr Williams will be able to work as a school learning support worker in a maintained school or non-maintained special school in Wales during the period of the Reprimand.

Mr Williams has a right of appeal to High Court within 28 days.
