Registration rules
Over the past few years, we have made some amends to the registration rules, mainly to reflect the addition of new registration categories.
We have recently reviewed the rules as a whole, which included reviewing the Interim Suspension Order (ISO) procedure, and the introduction of a fast-track procedure in certain circumstances.
We will be consulting on these changes from 1 December, so keep an eye out if you want to have your say.
New fitness to practise animation launched for witnesses
This new animation is a resource to help witnesses better understand the fitness to practise process. Employers play an important role in supporting staff involved in these proceedings. Sharing this animation can help them feel better prepared for what to expect.
Are your staff registered in the correct categories?
If you employ staff that should be registered with us, you need to make sure that they are registered in the correct category for the work that they do. You can use your access to the Register to check this.
A young person's view of the EWC
Earlier this year, we welcomed teenager, Logan Jones to the EWC. Keen to learn more about the EWC's role and why registration matters, Logan took on the challenge of interviewing our Chief Executive, Lisa Winstone.
From asking what the EWC does to finding out why young people should be aware of the organisation, Logan brought curiosity, enthusiasm, and plenty of great questions.

Update on the delivery of the Professional Learning Passport (PLP)
Welsh Government has made the decision to transfer responsibility for the PLP to Dysgu from September 2028. In the meantime, the EWC remains committed to delivering a high-quality service to all users. We’ve also got Meddwl Mawr, our monthly book club, where we recommend books or journals to support registrants in their daily work.
Quality Mark for Youth Work in Wales
We send our congratulations to STAND North Wales who have received their first bronze Quality Mark. Also to Pembrokeshire Youth Service, who recently renewed their silver Quality Mark, and Monmouthshire Youth Service who renewed their bronze Quality Mark. Llongyfarchiadau bawb.

Informing policy
Opportunities, challenges, and policy responses: Cymraeg and the education workforce
Join us on 10 November, 10:30-12:30 for a virtual event exploring key topics relating to the Welsh language within the education workforce.
The event will include contributions from Welsh Government, the office of the Welsh Language Commissioner, as well as a panel discussion featuring individuals with expertise in education and the Welsh language from various sectors.
