A Fitness to Practise Committee of the Education Workforce Council (EWC), sitting remotely on 12 and 13 May 2026, has found an allegation of ‘unacceptable professional conduct’ proved against work-based learning practitioner and school teacher, Andrew Jones.

The Fitness to Practise Committee found the following allegations proven, that whilst employed as a Trainer/Coach by Educ8 Training Limited, Mr Jones encouraged and instructed a learner to complete a Welsh Government ‘Review of Progress’ form on behalf of the employer without the employer’s knowledge or consent.

Having made these findings, the Committee also determined that Mr Jones’ conduct was dishonest and lacking in integrity.

The Fitness to Practise Committee imposed a Reprimand on Mr Jones’ registration as a work-based learning practitioner and school teacher for a period of 2 years (from 13 May 2026 to 13 May 2028).

As such, Mr Jones will be able to work as a registered person (work-based learning practitioner) who provides services for or on behalf of a work-based learning body (other than as a volunteer) in Wales for the period of the Reprimand. He will also be able to work as a registered person (school teacher) in a maintained school or non-maintained special school in Wales for the period of the Reprimand.

Mr Jones has the right of appeal to the High Court within 28 days.

A Fitness to Practise Committee of the Education Workforce Council (EWC), sitting in Cardiff on 20-23 April 2026, determined that Miss Lowri Mair Williams, an independent school teacher, had no case to answer in respect of all allegations.

A Fitness to Practise Committee of the Education Workforce Council (EWC), sitting remotely on 23 April 2026, have found an allegation of ‘unacceptable professional conduct’ proven against School Teacher, Richard Paterson.     

The Committee found the following allegations proven:

1. on or around April to June 2025, Mr Paterson made comments and/or sent messages of an intimidating and/or threatening nature to person A
2. as a result of his conduct at paragraph 1, Mr Paterson agreed to a Community Resolution for the offence of sending a communication threatening death or serious harm, contrary to section 181 of the Online Security Act 2023, requiring Mr Paterson to attend an alcohol awareness course

The Fitness to Practise Committee imposed a Reprimand on Mr Paterson’s registration as a School Teacher, for a period of 2 years (from 23 April 2026 to 23 April 2028). As such, Mr Paterson will be able to work as a School Teacher in a maintained school or non-maintained special school in Wales during the period of the Reprimand.

Mr Paterson has a right of appeal to High Court within 28 days.

A Fitness to Practise Committee of the Education Workforce Council (EWC), sitting remotely on 24 to 26 March 2026, have found an allegation of ‘unacceptable professional conduct’ proven against School Learning Support Worker, Kellie Kabza.  

The Committee found the following allegations proven:

1. She made statements that were inaccurate and/or misleading, including:
   1. on or around 20 January 2023, she stated to Colleague A using words to the effect that she had informed all relevant staff of an update to Pupil 1 and Pupil 2’s safeguarding arrangements, when in fact she had not
   2. on or around 17 April 2023, she stated to Colleague A using words to the effect that there was no damage to a minibus that she had driven upon returning it, when in fact she damaged the minibus
   3. on or around 20 April 2023 and 28 April 2023, she stated to Colleague A using words to the effect that she had taken photographs of Pupil 11’s lunch, when in fact she had not taken photographs
   5. on or around 28 April 2023, she stated to Colleague A using words to the effect that she had no recollection of how the minibus had been damaged, when in fact she knew she had damaged the minibus
   6. on or around 2 May 2023, she told Colleague A that she had checked the safeguarding files for Pupil 8 and 9, when in fact she had not
2. on or around 20 January 2023, she did not inform a teaching assistant of Pupil 3’s safeguarding arrangements, in that she did not communicate that Pupil 3 was not to be picked up by their mother alone
3. on or around 13 February 2023, she failed to follow Pupil 3’s safeguarding arrangements, in that she did not verify that the child’s grandmother was present at school pick-up
4. on or around 30 March 2023, she sent Pupil 4 and Pupil 5 home when they could have been supervised at School by another member of staff

The Fitness to Practise Committee found Mrs Kabza had demonstrated insufficient regard for the importance of pupil welfare and safeguarding in relation to allegations 1(a), 1(f), 2, 3, and 4.

The Fitness to Practise Committee also found Mrs Kabza to be dishonest and lacking in integrity with regards to allegation 1(a), 1(b), (c), 1(e) and 1(f).

The Fitness to Practise Committee imposed a Suspension Order (without conditions) on Mrs Kabza’s registration as a School Learning Support Worker, for a period of 17 months (from 26 March 2026 to 26 August 2027). As such, Mrs Kabza will be unable to work as a School Learning Support Worker in a maintained school or non-maintained special school in Wales during the period of the Order.

Mrs Kabza has a right of appeal to High Court within 28 days.
