The press and the public can attend hearings of an Induction Appeals Committee, and a small number of observer places are available for this purpose. If you wish to attend as an observer, you are asked to contact us on 029 2046 0099. Observers are asked to bear in mind the following points:

  • Hearings are subject to sudden cancellation or postponement. Those travelling long distances are advised to confirm that a hearing is still taking place;

  • Hearings are held in public in accordance with the Human Rights Act. However, all or part of a hearing may be held in private.

If you are a member of the press and wish to attend an appeal hearing listed here, you must contact us on 029 2046 0099. Should you not do so in advance of the hearing date, the Council cannot guarantee your place as an observer.

Further information for hearing observers can be found here . This information is general, and in all circumstances, the Education (Induction Arrangements for School Teachers) (Wales) Regulations 2015, and the Council's   Guidance for the Hearing of Induction Appeals  take precedence.
