We welcome the opportunity to respond to the Welsh Government’s consultation on proposals for new registration categories.

We are pleased and encouraged by the detail set out in the consultation to extend registration to a range of practitioners within the education workforce in Wales who are not currently required to register with the EWC. The anomalies which we previously identified in collaboration with Welsh Government, represented a potential safeguarding risk which would be resolved by the proposed additions to the registration categories.
