The Welsh Government has been consulting on draft legislation which would give the EWC new powers to apply Interim Suspension Orders to registrants in particularly serious circumstances.
Currently the EWC is one of the only regulators within education and other professions which doesn’t have these powers.
The EWC welcomes the potential legislation and sees it as something which can only improve public confidence in the education workforce.
