On 14 October 2020, we delivered a policy briefing on teacher recruitment and retention in partnership with the Welsh Government.
The highly successful event, saw over 160 stakeholders in education come together to explore the issues surrounding the recruitment and retention of teachers in Wales.
Drawing on comprehensive data and insight from Wales and beyond, the event also highlighted recent policy developments to address the issues and painted a balanced picture of how the profession could look in the coming years.
Hosted by Professor John Gardner, Chair of the Welsh Government’s Teacher Recruitment and Retention Advisory Board, the event featured contributions from the EWC, the Welsh Government, the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Mary Immaculate High School and Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf.
