The EWC, in collaboration with the Welsh Government, is hosting a virtual policy briefing via Zoom on 14 October 2020 to explore teacher recruitment and retention in Wales.

Set against the backdrop of global challenges surrounding the issue, the event will give policy makers, headteachers, senior leaders and researchers exclusive insight to the latest data and emerging patterns in Wales and beyond as well as looking at the picture in other professions.

The event will also showcase the innovative developments taking place in Wales to attract more people to the teaching profession and retain those currently in the sector. Guests will also have their questions answered in a Q&A session with an expert panel.

The event, which is sponsored by the Minister for Education, Kirsty Williams MS, will play a key role in guiding policy development in Wales in areas, such as workforce planning, Welsh language strategy and devolved pay and conditions.

The briefing will take place at the Senedd Building in Cardiff Bay on 14 October 2020, 9:00am-12:00pm.
