Professionally Speaking 2021 with Pasi Sahlberg: Growing up digital
Tuesday, 26 January 2021, 7pm
Children are not who they used to be, and this has been highlighted by the pandemic. One common observation is how quickly children learn to navigate in the world of media and technology to find their way forward. Children have also become more dependent on their gadgets. But what do we know about how this has changed them? And how do these changes affect learning?
In this online event, world-renowned education expert Professor Pasi Sahlberg will draw on the early findings of exciting international research to explore educators’ perspectives on children, digital technology, health and learning. He’ll invite us to have more informed conversation about how we can help young people live safer, happier and more responsible lives with digital technologies.
Pasi Sahlberg is an award winning Finnish educator and experienced school teacher, teacher-educator, researcher, and policy advisor. He has also studied education systems and advised education leaders around the world.
Held in partnership with Swansea University's School of Education, this is a valuable learning opportunity for all education practitioners and stakeholders, and particularly for those with specific responsibility for strategies to promote learner health and well-being.
During this unmissable event, attendees will also have the opportunity to ask their questions during a live Q&A session after the lecture.
Please note: we expect a high demand for places at this event, so please register early to avoid disappointment.
